Name: Melissa Whapples
Where do you live: Richmond, North Yorkshire
What were you doing before you joined Kacao Chocolaterie?
I was working in events in Darlington but fancied a change and was job hunting when I heard that Kelsey was hiring – it was perfect timing.
What made you apply for a job with Kacao?
I have known Kelsey for a while as our families are friends and it’s been great to follow the journey of Kacao Chocolaterie over the last year. When it was mentioned that she looking to add to her team I jumped at the chance as I thought it would be a great experience.
What is your main role at Kacao Chocolaterie?
I am doing a bit of everything – I am supporting with the general day-to-day running of the business, sales and accounts etc and also attending events. Our calendar of Christmas events is jammed packed so it’s going to be a busy time.
Are you enjoying the job?
I am really enjoying it, it’s much more relaxed than my last job although it’s going to be manic in the lead up to Christmas. I am looking forward to planning and creating new ideas with Kelsey as well.
What is your favourite Kacao Chocolate treat?
It has to be the Salted Carmel’s – I could eat them all day. Being surrounded by chocolate all day is very tempting so I am trying to be good.
