My start to 2016 has been pretty exciting as I had the opportunity to travel to China and spend a couple of weeks exploring this incredible country.
It was my first trip there and as a chocolate fanatic I was interested to find out about the relationship between the Chinese and my favourite product.
Having loved all kinds of chocolate from a young age I found it slightly baffling that most people in China has never even tasted a piece up until 30 years ago.
There is a cultural divide between the West and China – for example they hold a great belief that food is heaven – and when chocolate was first introduced it was treated as a luxury and people wanted to buy it to give as a gift rather than for themselves.
It was incredible to go and try the chocolate for myself.
